The Vision
In the early 1990s, our Founder cum Chairman Dr. Ramayan Prasad felt a calling that was sparked by his late father’s dream: to bring meaningful change to society through the power of education. Driven by this vision, he founded Vidya Niketan School in 1994, with the goal of ensuring that every child, especially girls could access quality learning in a supportive environment.
Our Humble Beginning
The school’s roots took hold in a community where educating girls was rarely valued. Families believed daughters were destined for early marriage, seeing them as “someone else’s property.” Instead of investing in their education, many saved for dowry. These beliefs posed immense challenges for Dr. Ramayan Prasad, who started the school initially for girls only. The early years were an uphill battle, filled with conversations and community outreach programs aimed at convincing families that education is the strongest tool to uplift not just girls, but entire communities.
Landmark Transformation
Over time, attitudes began to shift, spurred on by progressive state policies in Bihar—offering free education and scholarships for girls—and a growing recognition of women’s role in society. In 2021, Vidya Niketan School evolved into a co-educational institution, welcoming both boys and girls into its fold. This transition marked a major milestone, reflecting our belief that quality education should unite, empower, and inspire all children to achieve their dreams.
